From the Mariana Trench, the deepest point on earth, to surging shorelines and anywhere in-between, we make the impossible possible through our continuous passion for innovation. That innovation comes from our greatest asset: our people.
Our people design, engineer and manufacture technologies that are enabling our customers to discover, navigate, measure, detect and communicate in the toughest environment on earth: Our oceans.
We’ve been actively developing the technology to make the oceans accessible for nearly 50 years and we’re only just getting started…
There are no limits to what you can achieve at Sonardyne. We have an open and innovative culture where every member of the team has a challenging role with plenty of opportunities to develop and grow. Every member of the team has the chance to influence and shape the future of our technology. In addition to mentoring, professional development and training, we actively promote hands-on experience of our solutions in the ocean environment. We also like to have some fun, with a very active social group regularly laying on subsidised events. We always have a lively Christmas party and usually a summer BBQ too so everyone can enjoy some sunshine and chill out with a beer.
Our global HQ is in Blackbushe, Hampshire. We have ample parking and a cycle to work scheme that encourages employees to keep fit whilst improving their green credentials! There are great pubs, running and cycling routes on the doorstep and other sports facilities nearby. There are large chill out rooms for eating, relaxing and collaborative team work.
Perks and Benefits
We always try to keep our salaries competitive, but in addition we have a few extras on offer:
Support and Assistance
We take care of our employees and our benefits package includes 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays and employees can buy an extra 5 days annual leave. We have a competitive pension, generous sick pay and maternity pay, insurance cover if you are off work due to serious ill health and both a childcare voucher scheme and cycle to work scheme.
We recognise our people’s contribution
We want all our employees to have a chance to share in Sonardyne’s success and we regularly pay a discretionary performance related payment to recognise the contribution to our success which can either be taken as a salary top up or a payment into their employee pension.
Flexible working arrangements
At our HQ we offer options for an earlier start time or later finish time that enables employees participating to benefit from a half day off once a fortnight to take part in sport, pursue a hobby, chill out, or be with the family.
We are an international organisation and do our best to bring all our offices together and share aspects of the business across the entire business. We always want to ensure our employees have the information they need to perform at their best. As well as regular e-mail updates we have a quarterly presentation to all staff from our senior leaders. We also have an employee forum that helps the flow of information and views on important aspects and suggests improvements.
